What to do when you start out on a new job and you find out it's not what you expected?
Starting a new job can have a lot of pressure with it. Especially when we put that pressure on ourselves. Most people who like to hold themselves to a higher standard can be very demotivated when they find out on their first day or first week that the job won't return the satisfaction that they thought it would.
If you find yourself in a situation where you hoped to bring your A game to work with you but you are now faced with the underwhelming reality of what it is, the least you can do is to B+.
In the corporate world, there is barely room for an A- the next best thing is to B+ and that is what is expected of you.
As for many others who may not hold themselves to A higher standard, they C to it that they bring the commitment and consistency to make sure that they are average every day. And to me that takes A lot of Courage to D-liver.
Undoubtedly you will face D-days where all you will get out of your work is an E for effort. It's totally bad advice to give an F. Failure is not an option and nobody is going to give two FFs about you. The only other F you might get is being Fired.
My Advice is don't beat yourself up when starting out. It takes a lot of E (effort, efficiency, effectiveness, and energy) to bring your A game to your job and that is a good place to start.
With enough Es' you will bring D dedication that will let you C commitment to B positive about growing the right Attitude for an A.
